Laurel Burch inspired art in K2PTh

K2PTh have been really busy creating “Cats” inspired by the Feline collection of the famous artist Laurel Burch (1945 - 2007). The children listened to her story and were touched by her belief in herself. At the age of 14, Laurel Burch left her home with nothing more than a paper bag of clothing and the rare bone disease osteoporosis, that she was born with. With no money, no job, and no dreams, Laurel Burch reached the Golden Gate of San Francisco. During this time, she started dabbling in jewellery and created extraordinarily vibrant and exotic pieces. People asked her where she got them from and from then on, she began her journey as an acclaimed artist of modern times. Her art was magical and beautiful!In K2PTh, we started out by studying her work and appreciating the vibrancy of her art. We then tried to make our own cats on white board, before transferring the picture on to a big paper. They used water colour and black markers. The final art, as you can see, is absolutely stunning!
